Alternative Corrections has provided electronic home detention and alcohol monitoring services to more than 30 counties in Minnesota and North Dakota since 1998. We have monitored thousands of offenders for various criminal violations.
We are home monitoring service provider. Once an offender is sentenced, we take over. The offender is given a period of time to contact our office and arrange to serve home monitoring. The Court is notified if the offender successfully completes the program or fails.
Our procedures are flexible. Sheriff’s Offices, Jail Staff or Court Personnel are able to participate in the monitoring process although no participation is required.
A complete brochure may be downloaded by clicking the “Catalog of Services” button to the right. This information is helpful when trying to convince a Judge or Prosecutor to use electronic home detention.
Typical forms to assist Defense and Prosecuting Attorneys are also located to the right. These forms are in Microsoft Word format.
Advantages to Using our Service:
- Electronic home monitoring (EHM) is cost effective. In most cases, the offender is required to pay the cost of the home monitoring services. We collect directly from the offender without involvement of the Court, Sheriff or Jail.
- The local jail is not required to house, feed or provide medical care to the offender.
- The offender on home monitoring is allowed to work, take care of children and continue to meet the offender’s financial obligations.
- We handle all of the details. We install the equipment, monitor the offender, prepare closing documents and violation reports (if required) and retrieve the equipment when the offender has served the sentence. No participation is required from the referring agency.
